Hi guys,
Ive seen lots of threads discussing how you need a PvP title to achieve 50/50 in HoM. This thread hopefully will provide some of you with easy free advice to achieve that and get your sought after title!

I do not want this to become a QQ thread about PvP elitism, or how the zaishen title shouldnt be PvP cos then it can be bought, or that honestly DTSC is PvP and therefore Kurcick should be PvP title or WHATEVER. Please dont post these points.... PLEASE!

The fact is, if your want to 50/50 your HoM you need a PvP title... so i'm gonna teach you how, or at least how I would go about it if starting from scratch....

Zaishen Title Track:

- If your rich, your sorted, buy this and then go back to PvE
- Remember however that you need obsidi armour, tormented weapons, oppressor weapons, high end rare minis, and maybe some PvE titles that you are gonna need to blow your hard earned dough on... so if your not ludicrously rich, is this really this right thing for ya? Give it some thought

If the above is out of the question, what are you left with...

Hero title:

My advice:
- only consider this if you are already r3+, even then, it will be hard...
- If you aint got that rank, your not gonna get into most teams, and teams you do get into will probs die in UW... so you will take years to get to r8...

If however you are already r4 or whatever, and enjoy HA and think this title is for you, here is some advice

1) Lie: Form your own r5+, or r8+ teams (even if you r3 or r6 respectively) show your emote and then make sure people you invite are decent ranks.

2) if pugging, borat has a great thread on pugging that is a sticky on this forum, go find it, read it, and memorise it. It will teach ya how to pug people well.

3) Run lameway, the lamer the better: My advice is these 2 team builds....

Wota:

2x Wota (or coward sins)
1 Bsurge
1 Mind blast
2 Esurge
2 Monks

Hexway:

1 Wounding strike
1 LC
1 VoR
1 Blood necro
1 Esurge mesmer or IA ranger.... if u can get a good ranger
1 Rt (this bar... Xinraes, Weapon of shadow, Renewing surge, Lamentation, Anguished was Lingwah, life, spirit syphon, DPS
2 Monks

You can always run BBway but probs wont work to great at low ranks.

4) do not try to run your own builds

5) if low ranked, dont try to pug balance, it wont work and will take ages

6) Go HA on quest days... this will provide massive income of z keys to fund other stuff, and also lots of easy teams to beat

7) Refer to my general how to be good at PvP section at the bottom

Codex Arena:

- Don't go for this
- IF YOU ARE SO BORED and wanna risk getting a ban (unlikely) then go afk dead hours and use second accounts to form teams and then resign out... letting you main account win and farm points. Farm up to you c3 and stop
- But don't bother

Random Arena:

- This is probably your best bet especially if your new to PvP
- Therefore I will spend the longest discussing how to win and get ur g3 quickly
- Firslty go read my general PvP section I will write at the bottom
- Next decide what class your gonna play, and stick to it so you get good at it... although i'm going to make life easy for you
- DO NOT play dervish, paragon or Rt
- IF your new to PvP DO NOT PLAY warrior, ranger or mesmer (except in 1 case)
- ONLY play monk if your gonna memorise everything I say and then work really hard at getting good... but I wouldnt bother tbh for this reason.... having a monk is vital to getting decent glad points... having a good monk and 1 or 2 other decent players is enough to carry u to 10+ wins... however, if you urself are a monk, any good monks that end up in ur team will just leave cos 2 monks suck. Personally, id just wait till you have a good monk.
- If playing as midline or whatever... if you have no monks LEAVE after 1 match, if people in ur team look bad, LEAVE after one match
- These are what look good.... W/E, A/W, R/Mo, N/W, E/W, E/N, E/Me, Me/W, Me/Rt, Mo/W and Mo/A (if from [ban])
- if your team looks bad, save time and leave, wait till you get good players
- also, make urself look good, stand on shield set before match, run one of the builds im gonna list below

So what is left that you could run?????:

Necro:
- this is probably the easiest and most OPed of all the RA classes
- Run this: OABSY4DTSVAAHCMiJgVCAACAA with insidious parasite and shield bash

- CE, IP, Faint, Defile defenses, FF, Plague sending, Shield bash, Res sig (in short hand)

- This is super OPed bar that is easy to run
- Let me break it down. Everytime you cast Faint or IP make sure u have enough energy to cover with defile defenses
- Use CE to remove holy veil
Priorities:
1) Faintheartness of RANGERS, then WARRIORS, then DERVISHES
1+) USE FAINT
1++) USE FAINT
1+++) USE FAINT MORE
2) IP on ASSASINS, or AXE WARRIORS
3) ALWAYS COVER WITH DEFILE
3+) ALWAYS COVER WITH DEFILE
4) FF deep wound and poison and send it back with Plague sending (its free in terms of energy so use it often
4+) FF blind of wars
5) CE guardian of monks
6) defile defenses on monks
7) dont get d shotted by rangers - DONT let them stand next to you, with your first cast of faintheartness use SHIELD BASH + shield to block their d shot and put faint on them - then 90% of RA rangers wont be able to catch ur 1 sec casts

- This build is strong, so please use it strong
- Armour = Full tormentors insignias, minor curses and soul reaping, full vitaes.
- Weapons = spear +5e +5 AR (of defense) + shield (+30hp, +10AR vs piercing/fire/water)
- 40/40 curses set
- SWAP to 40/40 for cast
- SWAP TO SHIELD straight after cast
- dont get lazy, do it
- SERIOUSLY DO IT
- You want glad points right? SO SWAP BACK TO YOUR SHIELD SET

Elementalist:
Part 1)
- Bsurge
- OgRTcMEz25qCA0h1hdHtIcIAA + shell shock
- Bsurge, shell shock, shock arrow, rip enchant, enfeeble, Aura of resto, Air attune, Res sig
- Survivors (blessed) + vitaes and minor runes
-Weapons = spear +5e +5 AR (of defense) + shield (+30hp, +10AR vs piercing/fire/water)
- 40/40 air set
- 40/20/20 air staff (use at start and PLEASE COVER ATTUNE WITH AURA OF RESTO)
- ignore 40/40 curses... u wont use it so no point

Usage:
- Its sooo simple
- Bsurge any frontline or rangers
- weakness on warriors
- shell shock anything you warrior runs after
- MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!

Part 2).
Water ele:

- Harder than bsurge
- Better than bsurge
- Run this OgFUouFzwKSpMQiMgONrD4FQDCAA (tho id take shield bash instead of disciplined to stop pesky rangers)
- Shatterstone, glowing ice, blurred vision, glyph of immolation, steam, water attunement, shield bash/disciplined stance, res sig
- armour and weapons same as for bsurge (scroll up except use a 40/40 water)

Usage:
1) BLURRED VISION ON RANGERS
2) ^^
3) ^^
4) ^^
5) glyph immolation + steam on wars or sins
6) if no rangers then blurred vision on their sins
7) shatterstone + glowing ice on squishy targets or follow ur warriors targets
8) MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!

To this list im going to add Esurge mesmers and how to play hamma warriors, tho ill do that later if people seem keen on the advice.
Personally, stick to that necro, its strong and when u get good at it, u can carry teams.

General PvP advice:

MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY SWAP TO UR SHIELD SET AFTER EVERY CAST!!!!!

if ur gonna play any midline character (the ones ive listed above) getting trained on a 40/40 set will make ur monk cry, make life easy for your monk and use a shield set....

However, that said, make sure u cast on ur 40/40 set... do u wanna do 40% more dmg? (kinda) so USE IT!

Next:

How to Pre-kite warriors:
- This is the most amazing skill in the game, it says... Hex spell: Target foe does 0 dmg as long as you stay moving
- Dont kite when he starts hitting you, cos then u will eat bulls on ur 40/40 set and DIE (that means no glad points)
- Kite as soon as u see his fat obsidian armour lumbering towards you, that way he will chase ya for a min, when shield bash has recharged, stop cast Faint or IP or whatever and as he reaches u hit shield bash, he will disable his bulls strike, get KDed, and u can run away again.... GG

Know what your facing:
- Every time u enter an RA match as soon as u can see the enemy... Tab through them
- make a mental note of what your facing and what is most deadly to you team....
e.g. u are that pro necro, have 2 wars and a monk.... and u tab through and see 3 sins and an E/N....

Instantly you should say... 3 sins gonna pwn my monk.... so... need too play defensively Faint and IP on 40/40 on each sin, make sure each one is hexed with 1 of these at all times, that will probs save ur monks life... also... E/N = bsurge until proven otherwise.... maybe CE his Attunement? = no energy and FF blind of ur wars and put it back on the sins?

- See how much u can plan even before engage?
- That way u dont have to think of it all on the fly, u already have an idea of what will be expected of you from your team.

DONT BLAME THE MONK:
- seriously... if you die, its your fault, not cos the monk didnt heal you, its beacuse YOU took damage
- The monk didnt make you take dmg did he?
- Could it have been prevented by you? (shield bash + pre kiting)
- Had u shut down their melee properly?

Anyway this is still a work in progress, and hope that it helps some of you get ur g3 that you need to become a CHAMPION OF THE GODS!!!

People who are close to Champion of Gods should know a thing or hundred about RA / HA.

i always kinda thought they should, been such a long time since it even crossed my mind. Was r8 when i was pushing for it, kinda forgot about it since then, and saw someone in a previous poste quote r6, just thought they were stupid. Oh wells, tbh, I would have made it r9 instead of r6 if I was given the choice...

So THIS is why people always leave in the matches I play in RA. I play some N/R and P/R and always had people leave on me. Now I understand! Thanks man.

You failed to mention farming the Zaishen Challenge or Z-Elite for the limited daily faction. Do this enough and trade it in for keys. No cost, other than time. Use a trapper and leech other account(s) to increase the faction earned per day.

This zaishen title will require 1000k for 200 keys, some people wont be able to afford that with buying all the other weapons and stuff... for those people this is their guide!

and to the person I saw who suggested farming zaishen elite.... thats about 200 days of farming the z elite.... you serious!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure I said buy it with balth faction that you get from PvP. I'm also pretty sure that you are going to get that much balth faction from PvP (especially with zquest days) before you actually get a title.

Ok, and as I implied at least... that amount of keys is STILL worth 1000k, whether u earn it from faction or just spend it from ur storage.... EITHER WAY, u STILL dont have that 1000k to spend on ALL the other things that you need for 50/50.... THEREFORE, IF you are poor or not particularly rich, maybe using the Z keys you earn is NOT the best way to get the PvP title, but to actually persevere, improve at RA, farm the z quests, sell the keys, and earn g3 whilst also making a nice profit to buy 4 tormented weapons and 5th year minis.... did i REALLY need to spell it out again?

I specifically didnt put melee in because really if your not very experience at PvP there is not a huge amount of point playing warrior (its possible but not easy)... either you will struggle to pump DPS or get frenzy spiked on recharge.... Sin is another matter, but personally I hate sins.... but i can write a small guide for them if you so desire....

How to play a sin in PvP....

a) Bring a speed boost
b) or bring a cripple
c) or bring a KD
d) if u dont have 1 of those, prepare to run in circles after a monk....

Next, is not dying....

b) crit defenses in my opinion is weak... will either get stripped or tbh it can be out kited and then gg...

- if ur team is on full health and u have a brave monk... then u can go through them

d) will attacking or pushing here get a kill? If so... go for it, if not, maybe hold back and swap targets so u doont take too much pressure
e) I find sins to be most effective when they remain kinda elusive on the field...
- it might sound wierd, but try to stay at the back, u pump massive dps, so if u stay at the back other frontline will eat hexes and bsurge allowing u to push hard. Kinda the opposite to a ranger in this respect

Getting kills:
a) This is ur job, pump DPS
b) get more DPS
c) how to get DPS
1) indentify who on their team is bad
i.e. who will camp 40/40 sets?
You can tell by their class (e.g. N/Mo, Me/Mo etc...)
who wont pre kite you like i talked about above?
who has got skills like bonettis, shield bash, disciplined stance?
which warrior has frenzy?
FIND THESE TARGETS, and u can train them all day long
2) Guardian....
- That stuff is OPed... seriously, if ur target gets guardianed (LEARN THE ANIMATION - its one prot, just ONE, u can learn what it looks like) SWAP to another gtarget
- Start to fake... run at one target, the when u see guardian speed booost to another one and gg 5 seconds of free training, esp if they are one of the ones who dosent kite and is on 40/40 set
3) Idenitfy WHO to kill
- Kill what is gonna hurt ur team the most
- Mesmers if they have 4 of them
- Eles
- ..... monks.... THO DO NOT EVER SIT ON A MONK ALL GAME. Why u ask? JUST CAUSE... seriously there are 1215236423512414562345213146243 reasons.... and im now gonna list them
1) cos i said so
2) cause they have stances
3) shield bash will kd ur face
4) bonettis means if u train = full energy
5) most monks run disciplined + camp shield set
6) therefore u do 0 dps
7) monks often are the best kiters
8) cos i said so
9) they can still heal when ur training them
10) u will eat guardian
11) cos i said so
12) it makes life easy for them
13) guardian
14) because it makes monks on your team leave
15) your mums face
16) cos i said so
17) y should that ever have been a tactic?
18) the only people who say ALL ON 1 TARGET - are not good players
19) dont listen to them
20) listen to me
21) listen to all other good players
22) guardian

ok... bored not... but the list goes on...

4) dont eat bsurge:
- bad bsurgers forget to bsurge targets not attacking them....
- not invariably true, but its a good rule of thumb

5) lineback frenzy RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs if taking too much dmg

6) get kills, thats your job so do it, u have almost no utility so focus on getting kills

and read all the above on how to kite warriors if taking dmg
OH and 7) in close matches, where there is a priest or on burning map with shrines KILL PEOPLE AFTER TIME.... that way they have to burn a res sig or are down to 3 people for longer... the exception being if u can base res their monk miles away but meh, that gives him full energy...

There is probably more but this is a start

oh, this isnt meant to be the best guide on how to be the bestest guild wars player that has ever graced the battle isles with their holy self. This is how to drill bad habits out of people that NEED to get to r6 or g3 as easily as possible.

And lying was how i got my first few ranks... and tbh, its not a bad thing AS LONG as you are prepared to accept that you are terribad and therefore strive to improve yourself at every opportunity. That way as u progress through the ranks you will actually become a half decent player and might even deserve the rank you achieved.

Lie more, you rly need to stop watching pvx.wikia.com everyday. So you say people are naab based on their profession?
That S*ck you rly need to overthink your tactics on that 1, couz not everybody pvx's their builds. 10% of the people got brains and take their build based on the metagame. You can only say people are bad and that kinda stuf if you watch them play. So their for you just do your job and watchfield so you can see how people play mabye what the run and ofc this is also somthing so you can see if you need to play defensive. but anyway for a starters guide for people to get pvp titles its okeh.
